Doosan Enerbility Signs MOU with Seongnam City and LIG Nex1 on Cultivating "Glocal Talents"
Doosan Enerbility will be embarking on the cultivation of glocal* talents with Seongnam City and LIG Nex1 by offering artificial intelligence and software-related education programs.* Refers to the trait of possessing a global perspective, while also being able to reflect the local characteristics and culture.
Doosan Enerbility announced on June 30th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding at Seongnam City Hall with Seongnam City and LIG Nex1 agreeing to collaborate on the cultivation of glocal talents. In attendance at the signing ceremony that day were key figures from the related parties, including Sang-jin Shin, Mayor of Seongnam City; Dongchul Kim, Head of Doosan Enerbility’s Management Division and Ick-hyun Shin, CEO of LIG Nex1.
With the signing of this MOU, the three parties will now be offering AI and software-related education to elementary, junior high and high school students in the Seongnam region. Doosan Enerbility will be offering learning programs that explain about the basic principles of eco-friendly power facilities and AI solutions, while opportunities will also be offered to help students explore the various jobs and careers pursuable in the field of science and technology-related AI.
“It is a pleasure to be a part of this meaningful program that is being pursued through the partnership of the public-private sectors, with the aim of cultivating talents who are to lead the future of our industries,” said Dongchul Kim, Head of Doosan Enerbility’s Management Division. “We will provide active support to enable the students to apply and demonstrate what they learned at these local programs on the global stage.”
In the meantime, Doosan Enerbility is also actively carrying out social contribution activities that are tailored to lifecycle needs. The company is engaged in various initiatives that include providing support to underprivileged children, such as offering patronage to childcare centers and Young Carers*, and providing energy scholarships aimed at supporting the development of skilled professionals, all for the purpose of promoting the growth and development of both the young people and company.* Young Carers refer to young people, who are acting as the guardian of their families, and who have the responsibility of looking after any family member with illness and taking care of the household.
