Doosan Celebrates the Second Doosan Day of Community Service

- More than 10,000 employees from 158 business sites in 16 countries took part in a festival of sharing with their neighbors - Volunteer programs customized for each local site: facility repair works, environmental conservation, farming and more
  • □ On March 23, Doosan employees celebrated the Doosan Day of Community Service all across the world.
  • □ For the second Doosan Day of Community Service, following its debut in October last year, Doosan employees everywhere looked to see what was needed in their communities and participated in community involvement activities. This year, more than 10,000 employees from 158 business sites in 16 countries participated in the event.
  • □ Employees participated in 132 different programs customized for each local site around the world. They visited the disadvantaged, cleaned the environment, donated food, donated blood, helped repair roads and welfare facilities, and lent a helping hand to agricultural areas.
  • □ Doosan Babcock, U.K., built wheelchair-friendly entrances for the local community centers while Doosan Skoda Power, Czech Republic, repaired the local medical center in Plzeň. Doosan Power Systems India (DPSI) carried out hygiene education at a school in a poor neighborhood of Gurgaon. In the U.S., Doosan Infracore Portable Power (DIPP) collected food and donated it to a local food bank to help the underprivileged. In Brazil, Doosan Infracore South America (DISA) donated children’s books and toys. Doosan Infracore Shandong (DISD) took part in environmental protection activities together with other companies in Yantai, China.
  • □ Under the theme of “Heartwarming Furniture Story,” employees and executives of Doosan Corporation’s Corporate Office, including Doosan Group Chairman Yongmaan Park, made furniture for low-income families in Doosan Tower Plaza, Seoul. The furniture will be delivered to 123 households living in Jung-gu, Seoul.
  • □ In the opening remarks, Doosan Group Chairman Yongmaan Park said : “On the first Doosan Day of Community Service held last year, we declared our commitment to community involvement, but today, we deliver our continued commitment to our local communities. It is not easy to make furniture because it is not something that we do every day, but let’s do our best to deliver our sincerity through the furniture.”
  • □ The participants of the Corporate Office were divided into 41 small groups to assemble and paint semi-finished pieces. Each group made three pieces of furniture. In the afternoon, employees will also take part in the delivery of the space-efficient and multi-purpose storage cabinets they made.
On March 23, Doosan Group Chairman Yongmaan Park participated in the “Heartwarming Furniture-making” activity together with more than 200 employees at Doosan Tower Plaza, in central Seoul, as part of the Doosan Day of Community Service activity. The furniture will be delivered to the underprivileged families living in the neighborhood.
