- □ On May 5, four Doosan affiliates in the Changwon region, including Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, invited the families of their employees, partners and children from the local community, to celebrate Children’s Day together.
- □ The four local affiliates, namely Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, Doosan Engine, Doosan Engineering & Construction and Doosan Corporation Mottrol, invited over 10,000 people, including the families of their employees and partner companies, to DHIC’s Changwon Plant, where under the theme ‘Happy Sharing, Happy Together’ the 2016 Doosan Family Culture Festival was held. Notably, more than 1,600 children from over 70 local welfare facilities with which Doosan has sisterhood ties and multicultural families were invited to take part in the diverse programs. The children were treated to snacks and souvenirs, as well as meals at the in-house cafeterias.
- □ The children who attended the festival were able to enjoy diverse programs, including various events and rides, a talent show and a family sports competition, all of which were prepared to provide the children with a wonderful time to share their hopes and dreams.
- □ President Myungwoo Kim, head of the Management Division at Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, said, “The Doosan Family Culture Festival is a flagship event of ours, where families of our Doosan employees and children from local communities gather to spend time together in May, the month known as Family Month in Korea.” He added, “We seek to create a meaningful program, one that we can proudly share with the local community.”
- □ Doosan is providing funds to support operation of the facilities and donations to help children at the 70 or so welfare facilities, including the Changwon Community Child Welfare Center, so that the children can grow to become strong self-reliant individuals. The company is also donating study guide books to the child welfare facilities every semester.
- □ The Social Volunteer Group, comprised of Doosan executives and employees, pays visits to the child welfare facilities regularly every month, and operates diverse activities and study programs designed for the children. The program is now regarded as an exemplary local community CSR initiative.
