- Company bags 150 million-dollar contract, first major power project in Indonesia for ten years - Project to upgrade 300MW gas-fired plant into a 484MW combined cycle power plant
  • □ Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction announced on December 22, 2016 that its consortium with the Indonesian state construction company PT. PP had won a 180 billion won (US$150 million) contract from PT. Indonesia Power to upgrade the Grati gas-fired power plant into a combined cycle power plant.
  • □ Under the contract, Doosan will supply three HRSGs and one steam turbine and upgrade the existing 300MW gas-fired plant into a 484MW combined cycle power plant. The project is slated for completion in February 2019.
  • □ Doosan won the international competitive bid, competing with global leading companies from Japan and Italy among others, once again demonstrating its technological prowess in the power industry.
  • □ The project was rewarded to Doosan consecutively after winning the Subic thermal power project in the Philippines last October. With the new project, Doosan has entered the Indonesian power market for the first time since 2007, when it clinched the Cirebon thermal power plant project, and is now poised to clinch further orders in the Southeast Asian power market.
  • □ Huntak Kim, CEO of the EPC BG at Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction said, “I believe we were able to win the new project by continuously proving our advanced technologies and project execution capabilities from our successful track record in overseas power markets, including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and India,” adding, “As the Indonesian government has plans to construct power plants with 35GW by 2019, we are in a strong position to win additional projects.”
