  • □ Following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) at the end of April, according to the Business Collaboration Agreement, DHIC will review NuScale Power Module (NPM)’s design for manufacturability. Also, DHIC will manufacture and supply key components for the UAMPS (Utah Associated Municipal Power System) project, the first SMR plant in the USA.

  • □ NuScale Power has already signed MOUs with government entities in many countries, including Canada, UK, Jordan and Romania to deliver NuScale nuclear plants worldwide.
The strategic cooperation between DHIC and NuScale is not only limited to the USA but also will continuously extend to the global nuclear markets. DHIC and NuScale expect that contract amount for equipment supply will be at least USD 1.2 billion.

  • □ “NuScale’s collaboration with Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction will better-position us to offer our groundbreaking technology as a long-term energy solution for countries around the world seeking to meet a growing demand for reliable, safe, carbon-free power,” said NuScale Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John Hopkins.

  • □ In December 2016, NuScale Power submitted its Design Certification Application to the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the evaluation is well in progress. NuScale’s technology is the world’s first and only SMR to undergo design certification review, which is on schedule to be completed in September 2020. The first module of the UAMPS nuclear plant is expected to go into commercial operation in 2026.
