Doosan Enerbility is engaging in a social welfare program together with the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) for the fourth consecutive year, one that is aimed at providing support to vulnerable households that are struggling to shoulder their energy bills.

Doosan Enerbility recently made a financial donation of KRW 180 million together with the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Doosan: KRW 130 million, CCCI: KRW 50 million) to Changwon City at the “Changwon City Energy-Vulnerable Households Support” event held at the Changwon City Hall on November 20th .  The event was attended by key figures, among which were Geumyong Jang, Changwon City’s Acting Mayor; Jaeho Choi, Chairman of the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Dongchul Kim, Executive Vice President of Doosan Enerbility’s Management Division. This year Doosan Enerbility made an additional donation of Onnuri gift certificates, amounting to KRW 150 million, as a form of additional support to help the underprivileged and promote the local economy

Doosan Enerbility has been taking part in this support program for energy-vulnerable households every year since 2022. This year marks the fourth time this social welfare program is being carried out, with the aim of providing practical support to the local residents who are suffering from hardships owing to the burden of rising heating costs. The subsidies are to be delivered to 1,500 households that were selected from among vulnerable households that are energy voucher users in the Changwon region and who face particularly challenging financial hardships.

“I would like to express my appreciation to Doosan Enerbility and the Changwon Chamber of Commerce & Industry for the continuous interest and support they have shown toward the local communities and thank them for their heartwarming social contribution programs,” said Changwon’s Acting Mayor Geumyong Jang. “By pursuing welfare policies that are aimed at promoting the well-being of the marginalized groups, we seek to provide a warm and safe winter for all the citizens.”  Remarks were also made by the Chairman of the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “We hope to deliver what little warmth that we can during the winter season which is growing increasingly colder,” remarked Chairman Jaeho Choi. “The CCCI will do its best to be of help to the local communities and companies by engaging in various social contribution activities.”

“We hope that this energy support program, which we have been taking part in for four consecutive years, will help the local residents enjoy a warm winter,” said Dongchul Kim, Executive Vice President of Doosan Enerbility’s Management Division.  “As a leading company of the region, Doosan Enerbility will endeavor to foster a culture of sharing and promote the local economy.”

Doosan Enerbility is actively engaged in various corporate social responsibility initiatives that are carried out for the good of the local communities.  The company is involved in a wide variety of programs, such as supporting affiliated childcare centers in Changwon, helping children with gait disorders from underprivileged families, supporting youths who are acting as the heads of their households and cleaning up the Gwisan-dong coastal area.  Doosan aims to achieve mutual growth with the local communities by practicing the culture of sharing and upholding the values of shared growth.▲ Doosan Enerbility donated KRW 180 million (Doosan Enerbility: KRW 130M, Changwon Chamber of Commerce & Industry: KRW 50M) together with the CCCI to Changwon City at the “Changwon City Energy-Vulnerable Households Support” event which was held at the Changwon City Hall on Nov 20.  Geumyong Jang, Changwon City’s Acting Mayor (center); Dongchul Kim, Executive Vice President of Doosan Enerbility’s Management Division(left); Jaeho Choi, Chairman of the CCCI (right), pose for a group photo.
