Doosan Enerbility has recently secured another gas turbine order in the United States, further strengthening its position in the global market.
On March 6th, Doosan Enerbility announced that it had signed a contract with a U.S. client to supply the company with seven units of its 380MW gas turbine. Starting in May 2029, Doosan is to sequentially deliver gas turbines and generators, one of each per month, to the data center being built by the client. With this recently won contract, Doosan Enerbility now has a total of 12 gas turbines to deliver in the United States.
The key factors contributing to Doosan Enerbility’s rapid expansion into the U.S. gas turbine market are its proven performance, swift delivery time and U.S.-based local services. Since accomplishing the local manufacturing of a large-scale industrial gas turbine in 2019, Doosan secured technological reliability by successfully performing 17,000 hours of demonstration. With the signing of this recent contract, orders for a total of 23 gas turbine units have been secured to date, proving the competitiveness of Doosan’s products. The gas turbine maintenance capabilities held by Doosan Turbomachinery Services(DTS), Doosan Enerbility’s Houston-based subsidiary in the States, was also a key contributing factor to Doosan’s recent wins.
“Counting this contract, we will now be supplying a total of 12 gas turbines to the United States, effectively solidifying our position as a global player,” said Seungwoo Sohn, CEO of Doosan Enerbility’s Power Services Business Group. “Doosan plans to continuously supply competitive gas turbines going forward to effectively respond to the rising demand at both home and abroad.”
