Doosan Enerbility recently signed another steam turbine supply contract with a client in the United States, showing that it is rapidly expanding its reach in the North American combined cycle power generation market.

Doosan Enerbility announced on May 27th that it had signed a supplier agreement with a U.S. company to deliver four 370MW steam turbines and four generators to the client. The orders are to be delivered sequentially to Texas, USA over the years leading up to 2029. After receiving its first steam turbine order from North America this past March, the securing of this supply contract shows Doosan is broadening its business base in the North American market.

The steam turbine is a key component of the combined cycle power plant,* a power generation facility that uses the waste heat generated from the gas turbine to produce additional electricity. Steam turbines are recognized for contributing to the enhancement of energy efficiency and securing a stable power supply.
* Highly efficient power generation method is applied, involving the use of natural gas as fuel to drive the gas turbine, after which the waste heat generated from this process is used to produce steam to drive a second steam turbine.

”Following on the heels of our first steam turbine order from North America which was won this past March, the recently secured supply contract has once again confirmed the competitiveness of our Doosan turbines in the North American market,” said Seungwoo Sohn, CEO of Doosan Enerbility’s Power Services Business Group. “We plan to use this project as a stepping stone to widen our network with the local customers and partners in the States and will actively seek more business opportunities in the North American market.”

The North American region is facing a growing demand for the highly efficient combined cycle power plants, prompted by the data center boom, the surging industrial electricity demand and the replacement of aging power generation facilities. With this recently won contract, Doosan Enerbility plans to further strengthen its partnerships with the local power companies and actively expand its reach in the North American market.
