Doosan Enerbility announced on July 1 that it received the Deputy Prime Minister’s Commendation at the 50th anniversary ceremony of the Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM), held at the bank’s headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul.
The commendation recognizes the company’s contributions to Korea’s economic development and export growth. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Yuncheol Koo, KEXIM President Kiyeon Hwang, and other distinguished guests. Sanghyun Park, President & CFO of Doosan Enerbility, accepted the award on behalf of the company.
Doosan Enerbility successfully developed Korea’s first large-scale gas turbine as part of a government-led national R&D project, and completed a demonstration at the Gimpo Combined Heat and Power Plant operated by Korea Western Power. Building on this achievement, the company signed its first gas turbine export contract in North America last year, marking a major milestone in the global expansion of Korea’s gas turbine technology.
The company has also been selected as a key participant in the government’s Supply Chain Stabilization initiative, jointly supported by KEXIM. Through this initiative, Doosan Enerbility is strengthening the industrial ecosystem for nuclear power and gas turbines while enhancing Korea’s competitiveness in winning global projects.
“With the continued interest and support of the Korean government and KEXIM, we have achieved meaningful milestones, including our first overseas export of a Korean-developed gas turbine, as well as strengthening the supply chains for nuclear power, SMRs, and gas turbines. We will continue to expand exports of gas turbines and SMRs in the global market and contribute to Korea’s economic growth.” said Sanghyun Park, President & CFO of Doosan Enerbility.
Last year, Doosan Enerbility secured KRW 14.7 trillion in new orders, the highest annual order intake in its history. The company plans to further strengthen the competitiveness of its core businesses including large nuclear power plants, SMRs, gas turbines, and renewable energy, while expanding business opportunities in both domestic and global markets.
